Dreams

Everyone has different dreams in what they want to do, and accomplish in life. Some may be small while others may be unrealistically tremendous. When thinking about what my dreams are, mainly I think of just being successful, but not working myself to death. I don’t want to be constantly worrying about money like some people have to. And I would also want happiness to go along with that. I guess in a way it is similar to the American dream. Being some what well off, happy, and maybe having a nice house and nice things I guess to go with it. But I am going to try and keep my dreams within reality so they don’t have to be broken. Just the fact of opportunity itself as well, which is what I believe the main point of the American dream to be. When thinking about how peoples dreams now can be compared to dreams of people generations before us. I think in ways they would be similar, for instance just the dream of success. That is what I would believe to be the most common dream among anyone, now or generations before us. As dreams can be a good thing they could also be harmful if not handled well. If everyone constantly dreamed of being a multi billionaire then I think there would be a lot of crushed dreams out there. So I think it is important to be careful not to dream to big and realize the difference between fantasy and possibility. Yet I still think it is very important to have dreams to keep us aiming high and trying our best in life.

"My Summer"

This summer was rather uneventful for myself, nothing exciting really happened for me. My summer was kicked off by a camping trip with some friends up Chute Lake past Naramata. The trip was a great way to start the summer and finish grade eleven .Most of my summer break was comprised of working, sleeping and a little more working. I though it was sort of boring, but it proved to be good work experience. My line of work for the summer was managing vineyards. I liked working outside and was able to work in different places which was a nice change.
The most enjoyable part of my summer was the road trip me and my girlfriend took to Calgary. We were both able to take a week off of work and we were happy to be able to leave for a while. The road trip itself was great, and we both had lots of fun just driving there on our own. Being out there together was a great experience to. I have spent lots of time out there with my family but have never brought anyone. We have also been planning to move out there so it was a great experience to see what it was like. I was also very happy to show her my family and vice versa. While being out there I got to meet her brother as well which was very nice. This summer showed me a sense of responsibility, and what it will be like to be on my own. I felt a great deal of fulfillment in working hard and doing things on my own, yet still having an enjoyable summer.
